Would you ever use a magic 8 ball to make a business decision? What about a palm reading? How about “going with your gut?”
In our experience, we’ve found all of the above methods have about the same success rate. Rather than charting your path forward based on guesswork, past successes or internal pressure, we can help you explore every aspect of your question using the power of data. This engagement focuses on helping organizations evaluate or even make a decision about the best way to reach a set of strategic goals by using a data-based process we call a ‘discovery.’
During the discovery process, we will walk you through a set of proven steps that help your leadership and stakeholders draw conclusions – and test them for accuracy. It involves analytical, interpersonal and creative thinking, business management and leadership factors, all working toward the same goal: answering your question with accuracy.
This project is based on research and analysis, targeted to your unique challenges and opportunities. Travel is included – we’ll plan to spend about 2.5 days on your campus for on-site interviews and any potential demonstrations. Any travel outside of this timeframe will incur an additional fee.
A discovery engagement begins with gathering as much information as possible from you using a strategic process honed by our team during our dozens of years as deans and directors in Continuing Education. As part of this process, we’ll have a leadership meeting to gain a high-level perspective. We’ll then conduct 1-on-1 meetings with all necessary stakeholders to make sure we can begin our research with as much information as possible. While on site, we will also conduct a workshop with the full team to explore the challenge from a group perspective so we can identify issues, develop a hypothesis and make a plan for execution.
After undergoing our proven research and analysis as part of the discovery process, we’ll provide you with a report that includes:
- A comprehensive review of your current state
- An assessment of your desired state (along with the likelihood of that scenario)
- Strategic direction and recommendations on how to achieve your desired state
We’ll also schedule a one-hour virtual meeting to walk through our findings and answer any questions you may have. Often times, we are asked to come on campus to present out to the group and would be happy to accommodate that request.
